Recommended Spending Percentages For Your Household

We are constantly asked how much our clients should spend on each category or line item in their budget. Of course everything depends on you, your lifestyle, and values. But, there is a general range we think could work for most households. In this video, we talk about the Recommended Spending Percentages for: S.T.U.F. stands for Shelter, Transportation, Utilities, Food

• Shelter - rent or mortgage = less than 25% of your take home pay
• Transportation - 10% to 15% including maintenance, insurance, gas, tickets
• Utilities - 5% or less
• Food - 5% to 15%
